St Just-in-Penwith Church’s successful ‘Raise the Roof!’ appeal from 2018-2020 blended community fund raising events and grant applications to replace the whole of the Church’s six-sided slate but very, very leaky roof! This huge undertaking was needed to secure, protect, and insulate the building for use by future generations of worshippers and visitors.  The CHCT and Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund awarded a grant of £13,500 towards the costs of replacing the roof and making the church watertight.  The final roof and associated works were completed immediately before the 1^st COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. During which the Church worked with www.Ocean3d.co.uk to develop a High Definition Resolution 3D tour of the Church. The result is a truly immersive experience that gives potential visitors a true sense of being in the Church and hopefully trigger a desire to visit in person. The Church hopes the tour will increase the numbers of people visiting the Church for services and those who want to find out more about St Just’s Christian Heritage and help to safeguarding it for future generations of worshipers and visitors alike.

The Church has now reopened for services, key life events and individual prayer.  Opening times are currently limited but the Church is keen to return to its usual routine of being open every day to welcome all who wish to come and pray or just visit to admire this ancient Parish Church.
